Once the gun is off, take a small piece of mig wire, bent into a u shape and poke it into the two gun switch cables. This will bridge the switch circuit and make the welder feed. Another thing to try first is when you are welding is keep the cable to the gun straight as possible. Higher guage wire doesn't travel around curves well as lighter gauge. It was stored in my dads basement on the floor and the city storm drain backed up and put 3in of water into the machine. I tried to use it the other day and this is what happened.Need some help with my "new to me" welder. I am having problems with my welder, its a Lincoln SP250 welder (ditigal version). I am getting a lot of sticking and "blast off" with weld porosity. The weld are are narrow and ropy, the gun are "kicking" back at me. I changed the liner, tip and nozzle. I am using .35 solid steel with 75/25 Argon/CO2.I was looking at purchasing my first welder for use at home and was interested in the SP135 plus. The question I have is this: I see it comes all set up to weld with solid wire and gas. The website says it can do flux core welding, which I have experience in the past.Rick get the sp-135 plus.Its a great little welder.With .023 stainless wire,and the right gas the little lincoln will spray arc.Thats pretty impressive performance.I just traded my little miller 130xp in on a sp-175 plus its a great little welder also.Spend the extra at the welding store,because you will get support if needed.That could make up the difference even if you bought a 135 tapped ...02-23-2004, 07:56 PM. Use your eyes ,nose and hands to locate the problem. First Turn the machine on. Can you hear the transformer hum? if you can the problem is in the secondary wiring . I just got an older lincoln sp 125 plus and the panel/door doesnt match. I believe it was changed. Its a wel pak 100 door but its not a weld pak 100. It doesnt have the tap amp dial like it suggests, it has the continuous adjustment knob on top. I am going to look at a Lincoln SP 125 Plus later this afternoon and wondered if there is anything I should pay particular attention to. Does this machine have any quirks?
